Description:

This project began with the idea of updating a bathroom, bedroom and closet area from the 1920s to be functional as well as beautiful nearly 90 years later. Through working with the client, we developed a design to dramatically transform the space. Based on that design, Foothill Construction produced construction drawings, worked with the local building department and obtained permits. This project encompasses modern features while keeping with a sort of timeless elegance.

Description:

This project began with the idea of making a smaller home fit the needs of a growing family. Through working extensively with our client, Foothill Construction developed a design and selected products and finishes to customize the entire home. In keeping with a rich yet contemporary and functional style, a smaller home from the 1950s was transformed into a custom home that will serve our clients for many years to come.

Description:

This project started with our client looking for more square footage to accommodate a den, office and master suite. One item of utmost importance was budget. This entire project was completed using “off the shelf” items. This reduced construction delays inherent with special order and custom items. This also kept cost under control. The end result was a quality project that will stand the test of time that was built on budget.

Bathroom Accessibility Project

Bathroom Reconfiguration

Description:

This project involved taking an existing bathroom and reconfiguring and modifying it to be wheelchair accessible. The toilet was relocated to allow proper clearance for wheelchair access. The specialty shower where a wheelchair could be ‘rolled in” was also installed. Foothill Construction makes every effort to employ these principles on every project (including making provisions for the future). This project allowed a client to stay in their home.

Solar Patio Cover Project

Solar Panel Support Structure and Patio Cover

Description:

In this project, our client was not able to install solar panels on their roof due to original Spanish tile. The concern was that installing the panels would damage them.

Based on the solar panels and the needs of the client, Foothill Construction designed and built this patio cover that not only provides a unique focal point to the backyard and shade. It also highlights our client’s commitment to “going green.

Balcony Repair

Engineering Work, Balcony Repair

Description:

In this project, our clients had a cantilevered balcony on the back of their hillside home. This balcony was made of wood and had suffered from decay and termite damage and had become a safety hazard. It was over 60 feet from the ground.

They had previously consulted with other companies who recommended removing the entire balcony as well as extensive work inside the otherwise pristine home. This was both invasive, costly and time consuming.

Outdoor Deck

Deck, Heavy Timber Construction

Description:

As part of landscaping their entire property, our clients wanted to build a wood deck to allow them to get into their new yard.

Designed by a top landscape designer, this deck is made from 100% clear redwood and built with large beams (heavy timber). This allows it to withstand fire as it is built in the hills.

To allow for an open view from the new deck, we utilized a “wire railing” system. This is very strong and meets all safety requirements, but has virtually no maintainer and is very unobtrusive.

Design of a New Home

Description:

In this project, the client had a lot in a very desirable neighborhood with room to build a new home.

Although there was room to build, this project presented several design challenges:

• A very narrow lot
• Parking requirements
• A front unit with tenants
• Limited square footage

 
Through working with these challenges as well as looking at the needs of the client, Foothill Construction was able to develop a design for a 1900 square foot 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home.

The modern style is designed to match the adjacent home on the property.
